The 2025 edition of the WTA Wuhan Open will kick-start from October 5 in Wuhan, China with Aryna Sabalenka looking to win her fourth title at this tournament in a row. Here’s all the information you need to follow this penultimate Masters 1000 tournament of the season including its live streaming options, betting information and the draw and schedule for the competition.
WTA Wuhan Open Schedule
The 2025 edition of the WTA Wuhan Open is out and the competition will be played over a one week period between Sunday, October 5 and Sunday, October 12. Here’re the crucial dates associated with the 2025 WTA Wuhan:
- Qualifying Rounds: Saturday, October 4 & Sunday, October 5
- First Round to Third Round: Sunday, October 5 to Thursday, October 9
- Quarterfinals: October 10
- Semifinals: October 11
- Final: October 12
What Does the 2025 WTA Wuhan Draw Looks Like?
56 singles players will take part in this year’s competition with 16 of them getting seeded. Aryna Sabalenka will lead the draw as the top seed and she will be joined by all the remaining five top players in the women’s world of tennis.
The top eight seeds have a first round bye while the remaining eight seeds along with 40 other players will feature in the first round.
Sabalenka has a tough draw headed into the tournament and following a first round bye she could face Anna Kalinskaya in the second round, Liudmilla Samsonova in the third and Naomi Osaka in the quarterfinals. Osaka is a dark horse given her form all season and if she can get past Leylah Fernandez early in the tournament she could be a player to watch out.
The second seeded Iga Swiatek takes on Marie Bouzkova in the second round after the latter overcame Camila Osorio in the first. She shouldn’t have too many problems there and then might face Belinda Bencic in the third and Jasmine Paolini in the quarterfinals.
Swiatek is coming off a three-set defeat at the hands of Linda Noskova at the China Open which includes a third set bagel.
In that very tournament in Beijing, it was Amanda Anisimova who would go on to win the title – her second of the season in her fifth final of the year. That’s some crazy form given the American had entered just four tournament finals in all her career before 2025.
She will be joined by Coco Gauff, Mirra Andreeva and Jessica Pegula as the other top players, all of whom are aiming for some more consistences.
