An ATP 250 event, the Mallorca Open will be played in 2023 as well at the Mallorca County Club in Mallorca, Spain. The ATP Mallorca Open was to be first played in 2020 as a replacement for the Antalya Open in Turkey on the grass swing of the ATP tour. It was, however, cancelled that season because of the pandemic and instead started off in 2021.
Called the Mallorca Championships, the tournament will have a prize money of €951,745. It will be hosted in the week before Wimbledon at at Santa Ponca, giving players their last chance to get attuned to the third major of the year.
One of the reasons for this allocation according to Chris Kermode, the ATP Executive Chairman and President was the importance of Spain as an ATP tennis market. Toni Nadal will act as the tournament director at this tournament.
2023 ATP Mallorca Open Schedule & Dates
The schedule for the 2023 Mallorca Open on the men’s tour sees the competition kick-off on June 26 with its first round matches. Some of the first rounders could also be played a day earlier while the qualifiers will be held on June 24 and 25.
The Mallorca Open final for 2023 will be hosted on Saturday, July 1.

The organisers are yet to confirm the player participation for the Mallorca Open 2023 but since it’s that close to Wimbledon, it’s tough to see too many of the top-10 participate in the tournament.

What Happened in the 2022 ATP Mallorca Open?
In what turned out to be a ripper of a final in 2022, Stefanos Tsitsipas clinched the title with a 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (2) win over the fifth seeded Roberto Bautista Agut.
Tsitsipas had had a straightforward second round win over Ilya Ivashka following a first round bye but was then taken to three sets by Marcos Giron in the quarterfinals. A 6-4, 6-4 win over Benjamin Bonzi took him to the final.
Top seeded Daniil Medvedev, who was also the defending champion, fell in the last eight round to Bautista Agut.
Daniil Medvedev won the 2021 edition of the Mallorca Open with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Sam Querrey in the final. He had earlier needed three sets to get past Pablo Carreno Busta in the semifinal, while Querrey got past Adrian Mannarino in his last four stage encounter.
The 2020 edition of the Mallorca Open was expected to be its first but had to be cancelled because of the pandemic. Since this is the first edition of the Mallorca Open at the highest level, there wasn’t much that happened last season.
