The WTA Bad Homburg was going to be a new addition to the WTA Tour from the 2020 season but it had to be postponed to 2021 because of the pandemic.

The grass court event which was to be held in the preceding week before Wimbledon was categorised under the ‘International’ level, which means it will award the winner 280 WTA ranking points.
