Hubert Hurkacz won the 2023 edition of the Marseille Open with a 6-3, 7-6 (4) over Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi in the final.
Having started out as a top seed, Hurkacz needed three sets to get through his first couple of matches following a first round bye but then found his rhythm in the semifinal against Alexander Bublik. He overcame Bublik 6-4, 7-6 (4).
Bonzi, on the other hand, was a surprise winner over Alex de Minaur and Maxime Cressy in previous rounds.
Jannik Sinner had started out as the second seed but withdrew from the tournament before his second round match against Arthur Fils.
