What Happened at the Previous Charleston Open?

Ons Jabeur clinched the title last season by defeating Belinda Bencic in the final. While she was stretched in the opening set, things became a lot better in the second as she claimed a 7-6 (6), 6-4 victory to lift the tournament.

Interestingly, these two players had featured in the final of the 2022 edition of this tournament as well and it was Bencic who had won that one. Top seeded Jessica Pegula and third seed Daria Kasatkina were the other semifinalists.
