Peter Gojowczyk v Cameron Norrie Preview

This is the second meeting between these two players, who met for the first time in the 2018 French Open, where Britain’s Norrie was up by a set before Gojowczyk retired.

Both player have had promising portions of the current season. Gojowczyk was a lucky loser at the ATP 500 in Washington DC making it to the semi-finals. Norrie moved up to a career high ranking of just outside the top 40 in the world, earlier this summer.

Both their seasons have gone off track a little in recent weeks, with Norrie falling to number 65 in the world rankings, and Gojowczyk not having won a match since the Citi Open semi-final in Washington DC.

Expect a competitive match on the cards, with both players looking to get their season back on track. .The match could go either way, but Norrie edging the German in three sets seems more likely

Tip: Norrie to win in three sets. 6/4 with 888Sport

Yoshihito Nishioka v Alberto Ramos-Vinalos Preview

Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka and Spain’s Alberto Ramos- Vinalos meet for the first time in the Zhuhai Open first round encounter. The Spaniard has been on the circuit for most of the decade, where as the young Japanese is just about becoming a name well associated on the tour, at age 23.

Ramos-Vinalos is better suited to the clay, like many Spaniards and has had some good runs during the European clay court season in recent times. 2019 has not been among his best seasons and he did not do much of note on the clay either this year. His ranking has fallen from being a top 20 player at one time, to being ranked number 46th in the world at the moment.

Full of heart, and spirited, young Nishioka has had a few ‘firsts’ in recent times. He won his first ATP singles title at the Shenzhen Open during the Asian swing last year, defeating Pierre Hugues Herbert in the final.

He also won his first ever match against a top ten player at the ATP Masters 1000 in Cincinnati, defeating his hero fellow Japanese Kei Nishikori. He will always be remembered for his valiant effort in the second round of the French Open against Juan Martin del Potro where he lost the match in five sets, but left such a mark that the Argentine crossed the net and bowed to the Japanese player.

A match of contrasting generations and playing styles awaits us, and while the Spaniard is more experienced, the conditions and the surface suit Nishioka better. Expect the young Japanese to pull through in two tight sets.

Tip: Nishioka to win in straight sets: 11/10 with 888Sport

Adrian Mannarino v Ze Zhang Preview

French veteran Adrian Mannarino plays home favorite Ze Zhang for the first time, in the opener of the Zhuhai Open.

Mannarino is currently ranked just outside the top 50 in the world, though he was ranked 22nd in early 2018. Although having been on the circuit for most of this decade, he won his first ever ATP tournament earlier this year at Rosmalen on grass.

Ze Zhang is among the higher ranked male Chinese players, yet ranked outside the top 200 in the world. He has mostly played the ATP Challenger and ITF Future tournaments and will be hoping the home crowd can cheer him on to make a match out of this.

Expect Mannarino to win the contest in straight sets.

Tip: Mannarino to win in straight sets 10/11 with 888Sport
