Daniil Medvedev v Denis Shapovalov

Daniil Medvedev’s early exit in Montreal left his number one ranking in jeopardy but the Russian can breathe easy as Nadal lost in round one ensuring his stay there for another week at least. The Russian can now focus on finding form ahead of his title defence at the US Open and a challenger is ready.

Denis Shapovalov is having a lacklustre year but the Canadian scored some impressive wins here and Medvedev should be on notice. The comeback win against Tommy Paul showed that Shapovalov has developed some mental fortitude that he lacked in the past.

They played a couple of times in the past and they each won two matches. Medvedev is the heavy favourite as he should be but Shapovalov is not without a chance. If he’s able to play a bit loose as he did against Paul he can certainly create trouble for Medvedev.

The win over the Russian is not in question however Shapovalov might keep it close. Look at the Canadian to cover the 4,5 games he’s offered.

Tip: Games Handicap Shapovalov +4.5: 8/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Cameron Norrie v Ben Shelton

Ben Shelton is quickly emerging as one of the best youngsters from the US with the NCAA champion scoring some impressive wins on the challenger Tour recently. He played a final on Sunday and the quick turnaround to Cincinnati didn’t bother him at all. We first saw him beat Lorenzo Sonego in three and then Casper Ruud in two sets and that was his first top 5 win in his career.

That’s no joke and Norrie will certainly be aware of it. The Brit is rarely unprepared thanks to his team and even when things don’t go as planned he can adjust. Andy Murray gave him a lot of trouble winning the opening set but Norrie was able to battle back and win that match.

The Brit is 20-9 on hard courts and he’s making a push for the ATP Finals as his Wimbledon points don’t count. To get a quarterfinal here would be huge for him and all he needs to beat is a younger player without much experience. Sounds petty simple?

It won’t be that easy but I fully expect Norrie to get it done. As good as Shelton has played, Norrie is something different. He is strong physically and can hold the ball in the rally well so that’s a clear advantage.

Tip: Norrie to win: 4/9 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Jessica Pegula v Emma Raducanu

Jessica Pegula had a superb week in Toronto playing in the singles semifinal and winning the doubles trophy with Coco Gauff. The American is certainly playing some great tennis and it’s great timing ahead of the US Open. Her ball striking ability is well known but she’s yet to fully reach her potential. It’s getting there though.

The same could be said for Emma Raducanu however her full potential was on full display once in her career. She won the US Open that fortnight and heading into that event, Raducanu is picking up some strong form. She played two amazing matches to down Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka.

There is a chance she could continue that but she’ll find quite a bit of opposition from Pegula. There are not many players that can hit as hard as Pegula can so that’s troublesome for Raducanu. She had a similar experience against Giorgi last week and she didn’t handle it well.

I think she’ll do a bit better here but I don’t it will be enough to win. I think Pegula will get it done although we might see a very close match so the games should be in play as well.

Tip: Pegula to Win, Over 20.5 Games: 2/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
