Serena Williams v Ajla Tomljanovic

Serena Williams will have a chance to secure the 4th round of the US Open in a matchup against the very solid Tomljanovic. Nobody doubts Serena anymore after she defeated Anett Kontaveit in the second round and Ajla Tomljanovic will have to face both her and that crowd behind her.

Kontaveit spoke after the match that it affected her and at times, it was very wild. The Australian is having a very solid year and loves playing on North American hard courts having spent plenty of time there. She is certainly capable of beating Serena but this won’t be a typical match.

Everybody is praising the level Williams is bringing to these matches. Mats Wilander pointed out it’s the best she has looked in years and all analysts consider her a real threat to go deep in this event. I tend to agree and there is no reason to doubt her.

The odd is a good one, there is a lot of value, mostly due to the crowd. It takes a mental giant to overcome that pressure and Tomljanovic never was one.

Tip: Williams to Win, Over 20.5 Games: 11/7 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Casper Ruud v Tommy Paul

Tommy Paul and Casper Ruud played a couple of times in the past and the Norwegian was generally better. The only match Paul won was many years ago and it finished with a retirement by Ruud. The American is a better natural fit on hard courts but Ruud is the better player.

It should be an interesting one cause Paul generally shows up when he has the crowd and he will certainly have the crowd in this one. Both have pretty strong records on hard courts this year and both have had some strong moments recently.

It’s an interesting one that should feature both players having strong moments on the court. I think Paul wins a set and I think Ruud does too. What happens beyond that is a bit tricky to predict but it’s largely expected that Ruud will able to get this win.

He’s far more patient in rallies and that should be an advantage in this one. He’ll try to keep the rallies longer and force Paul to overhit.

Tip: Ruud to win AND Both players to win a set: 6/4 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Karen Khachanov v Jack Draper

Another interesting matchup where a youngster could create waves is this one between Draper and Khachanov. The Brit is enjoying a brutally good stretch in North America with some impressive wins such as the one over Felix Auger-Aliassime last night.

He looks very poised for a win here and he is the favourite. Khachanvo has been a steady grand slam performer in his career and he’s had some decent moments at the US Open. 14-10 is his record on hard courts while Draper has a 12-5 one. The Brit is actually 42-13 on the year with a top 50 debut on Monday.

It’s an interesting one but many expect the Brit to win this one. I do too and it’s mainly because I could see him reach a level that Khachanov has not had in a very long time. The Russian will be solid and he’ll do his best but when it comes to taking the match away from his opponent, I just don’t see it.

Take Draper.

Tip: Draper to win: 7/10 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
