Nick Kyrgios v Karen Khachanov

Nick Kyrgios continued his sensational play this year by beating defending champion and world number one Daniil Medvedev fairly convincingly. There were some moments of doubt in his game and Medvedev certainly missed a huge chance of winning the opening set but the Australian was the better player.

He’s been playing spectacular tennis and with the win, he became the 2nd biggest favourite to win the event after Nadal. Some would say he’s even ahead of Nadal. It’s no wonder that he’s favoured against Karen Khachanov, a solid player who did really well to get to the quarterfinal.

Beating Carreno Busta is really good, especially since the Spaniard has played in a semi-final in New York before. The Russian has a pretty good serve and solid forehand which is more than enough to thrive in New York. Taking on Kyrgios will be hard for him he’s beaten him before.

Still, Kyrgios not winning would be a huge surprise.

Tip: Kyrgios to win in straight sets: 11/10 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Casper Ruud v Matteo Berrettini

One of these players has the chance to finish as number one after this event and it’s Casper Ruud. To keep that hope alive, he needs to win this match and move on to the semi-final. It’s quite a task for Ruud who has beaten Berrettini this year in Gstaad.

Ruud actually holds a 3-2 H2H against Matteo with all but one match happening on clay. The only hard court match happened at the 2020 US Open and Berrettini won it in straight sets. The Italian loves playing in New York because it suits his style really well.

He has a powerful serve and a deadly forehand and all of that works really well on a fast surface like this. Ruud is favoured here but only slightly. It’s understandable as the Italian is the more natural fit on these courts. That is why I think he will probably prevail here.

It will be close, but he should have the edge if he plays his best.

Tip: Berrettini to win AND Both players to win a set: 15/8 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Ons Jabeur v Ajla Tomljanovic

Ons Jabeur played in a grand slam semifinal this year while Ajla Tomljanovic did not. The Australian did play in the quarterfinals and she will look to finally advance past that stage with a win here. It will be tough as she faces a player who has beaten her twice already.

One was a long time ago and one was this year on clay in Rome. Jabeur is the better clay player no question with them being much closer on hard courts. The supreme talent of the Tunisian gives her a clear edge in this one but Tomljanovic won’t be so easy to beat.

She’s playing really well this year and has played well on grand slams before. Motivation should not be lacking but she’ll need her absolute best in this one. I think she will keep it close but I don’t think she will be able to win the match.

Jabeur is too go to let this opportunity slip away.

Tip: Jabeur to win AND Over 20.5 games in the match: 13/8 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
