Barbora Krejcikova v Alison Riske

The only match these two players ever played happened in 2018 at the Indian Wells in the qualifiers. Krejcikova won that match in two sets and she’s heavily favoured to do so again.

It’s a big year for her as she started off well in Australia last year but then injuries happened and never she found her footing again.

Riske had a solid year overall but started off shaky in 2023 losing a couple of matches that she was expected to win. Her main advantage over Krejcikova is the fact that she played as four matches before this one will matter quite a bit. Krejcikova hasn’t played any and there will certainly be some rust present.

As she’s a player who doesn’t shy away from going for it in points, that might be a problem. Despite that, the Czech player is the far better player. She’s had plenty of time to figure things out and we expect her to start this year off with a win albeit a shaky one.

Tip: Riske to win a set – Yes: 8/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Tommy Paul v Christopher O’Connell

Similar to the match above this too features a player that hasn’t played a match in the news eason and one that played a couple. O’Connell played three matches so far but he only won once so while playing is an advantage it’s not like he’s been on fire.

Paul is a very streaky player as well and we simply don’t know what we’ll get from him. He might be excellent but he might also be quite poor. It’s tough to say and they did play some close matches in the last. The score is 1-1 and last year’s match at the French Open was a really tight win for Paul in five sets.

We expect a really close one here because it will likely take Paul some time to figure things out. He’s certainly expected to win but the over on games looks like a very solid option at the moment. We do think it will hit as well as Paul winning.

Tip: Over 22.5 games in the match: 10/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Liudmilla Samsonova v Amanda Anisimova

Another interesting matchup in Adelaide will be between Samsonova and Anisimova. Teh latter oepend really well in Australia last year but that hasn’t been the case this year. She lost two of three matches she played so far and looked rather shaky in all of them.

While Samsonova hasn’t been on fire either she at least showed a really solid level overall. She won against Zhang and looked okay againt Sabalenka with Aryna ending up winning that event. It’s highly expected that Samsonova will produce the more stable effort out of the two and that’s important.

Anisimova is probably the player with the higher peak but she’s not hitting it at the moment. Perhaps she can turn it around for one match but for now it seems likely that Samsonova will prevail. We don’t think it will be easy though so the over looks like a solid option to try.

Tip: Over 21.5 games in the match: 8/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
