Novak Djokovic v Grigor Dimitrov

Grigor Dimitrov has not had much success against Djokovic over the years losing the matchup 10-1 but injury concerns give him a unique chance.

Djokovic is playing at a crazy level right now but he’s severely hampered by an injury that continues to be a problem. The crazy level Djokovic is hitting right now mostly has to do with the increased aggressiveness that sees him shorten the points.

It worked well against bad players but Dimitrov should offer more of a challenge. Admittedly, the Bulgarian’s play has been rather good albeit not on Djokovic’s level. He can plan around Djokovic’s injury though and perhaps he gets a bit lucky.

Djokovic will probably win this match but look for Dimitrov to win at least a set. The high level can’t be sustained at all times.

Tip: Dimitrov to win a set: 11/10 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Belinda Bencic v Camila Giorgi

Belinda Bencic looks quite unstoppable right now as she’s marching at the Australian Open but a tricky challenge lies ahead.

It will take a special kind of level to take down Bencic who is looking really confident in her game under new coach Dmitry Tursunov. Luckily for Giorgi, she’s capable of hitting that special kind of talent albeit it happens very rarely. She hits the ball really hard and really flat.

Both things work well in Australia but she will need to sustain that over the course of the match. Will she? I don’t think so because it’s been well over a year since she last did that.

I expect Bencic to put her under heavy pressure form the start and sooner rather than later, Giorgi will start missing and missing plenty. A very risky bet is taking the Bencic handicap games but we predict an easy cruise in the 2nd set after a competitive first.

Tip: Games Handicap Bencic -4.5: 10/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Linda Fruhvirtova v Marketa Vondrousova

A very fascinating Czech derby awaits us in Melbourne as Fruhvirtova takes on Vondrousova. It’s not quite a clash of generations but there is a pretty big age gap between them.

They know each other well, particularly Fruhvirtova who grew up watching all of the great Czech tennis players. Vondrousova is a former major finalist (on clay) and he’s finally returning to that form. Some of her wins this year were quite impressive and she’s slated to continue that here.

Fruhvirtova can do something and it’s not out of the realm of possibility that she wins. We won’t back her to do that but we certainly believe she can win at least a set. Her game is quite complete for such a young player and now it’s just about adding dimensions to it.

She’s looked good here and is a prodigy of sorts whose transition is going well. Let’s see if she can get it done.

Tip: Three sets in the match: 6/4 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
