Caroline Garcia v Tereza Martincova

Lyon native Caroline Garcia will be looking to add another trophy to her tally as she hopes to win her home event. It’s a trick start against a player who loves to play indoors and can hit the ball pretty damn well.

Tereza Martincova can hit the ball really well but she can’t hit the ball as well as Garcia. The French player didn’t have a red-hot start to the year but expect her to be at her best her due to the comfort level of being back home in Lyon. A 6-2 start is pretty strong for her regardless of the surprising loss to Linette in Melbourne.

Martincova has a 2-3 start and she largely hasn’t shined so far. A loss to Sabalenka was not surprising but she’s not playing as confidently as she generally can play.

It’s a tricky match for Garcia but I expect her to handle it really well and win it in two straight sets. The under seems worth a try.

Tip: Under 20.5 games in the match: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Linda Fruhvirtova v Bethanie Mattek-Sands

Eight-seed Linda Fruhvirotva is highly favoured in this matchup simply because this year seems the one where she will finally break through. Already a WTA-level trophy holder, the Czech sensation hopes to continue her strong play from the start of the year.

Her record is 4-3 but there were some impressive wins in Australia like that one over Marketa Vondrousova. Mattek-Sands is a doubles player and she’s not played a singles match since November. She generally doesn’t play them but occasionally she’ll accept a wild card entry like she did here. She only played 3 singles match in 2022 an only 13 the year before.

She posted a negative record in both years so it’s pretty clear that she’s a huge underdog in this matchup. It’s clear that Fruhvirtova should win this match in straight sets and what we recommend. There is a chance that Mattek-Sands could push the over at 17,5 but we don’t recommend it.

It’s unlikely she will bring her best or try her best against an up-and-coming superstar.

Tip: Fruhvirtova to win in straight sets: 1/3 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Bianca Andreescu – Harriet Dart

Bianca Andreescu makes her start in Hua Hin hoping to continue her comeback to the top of tennis. The Canadian had a solid stay in Australia but didn’t go as deep as she would have liked. The field in Thailand is one she can best if she plays well but it’s a tricky start.

Harriet Dart never gives up on a rally or a match. She’s frequently been featured in long matches and this might be another one if Andreescu starts to spray errors. That will always be a danger in her game and Dart is certainly good enough to push her towards that.

I don’t think Dart can win but she could certainly make it tough for Andreescu and make this a 3-set effort. The Canadian tends to complicate matches like this so we think the over might be a good option.

It’s a risky play as it can be a simply win in straight sets but we hope it might be a slow start from Andreescu afer not playing in a few days.

Tip: Over 19.5 games in the match: 10/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
