Daniil Medvedev v Alex de Minaur Head to Head

Medvedev leads the rivalry 5-2. They are 1-1 this year though. While De Minaur won in the Toronto quarterfinal this year; Medvedev won in the round of 16 at the US Open.

De Minaur Survives Three MPs Against Murray

Alex de Minaur showed nerves of steel as he survived three match points before battling past Andy Murray in the first round of the China Open on Thursday.

The Australian, ranked no. 12th in the world, had taken the first set, but the Murray forced the decider by making a comeback in the second. The Scot had an upper hand in the third after he built a 2-5 lead in the third, but he missed out on two match points in the eighth game and then lost serve in the vey next game, allowing the Aussie to stay alive in the contest.

De Minaur then saved another match point on Murray’s serve at 5-6 in the tiebreak, before sealing the contest 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 (8-6).

De Minaur, who reached his maiden ATP 1000 final in Toronto, reached four finals this year, winning one of them in Acapulco.

He is aiming to reach a 10 quarterfinal in 2023.
