Aryna Sabalenka v Katie Boulter Head to Head

Sabalenka leads the rivalry 2-0. She won at the Australian Open in 2019 and at Wimbledon in 2021.

Match Winning Odds*

Sabalenka Routs Kenin

Sofia Kenin had come into the tournament in excellent form, but the American was no match to the new world no. 1 as Aryna Sabalenka stormed into the second round with a straightforward win.

Dominating the contest from start to finish, the Belarusian did not face a single break point while she converted 4 of 9 to win the 57-minute contest 6-1, 6-2.

Sabalenka, who finished runner-up to Coco Gauff in the final of the US Open, improved her season record to 51-11.

She has won three titles this year from six finals, taking her total tally of titles to 13.

Only thrice has Sabalenka lost before reaching the quarterfinal stage this season and given the sort of form she is in at the moment, it is highly unlikely that she will fall in the second round in Beijing.

Boulter Holds off Frech in Three

Qualifier Katie Boulter made it to the second round with a three-set win over Magdalena Frech.

The world no. 54 saved 11 of 16 break points and converted 7 of 13 to beat the Polish player 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.

Boulter had qualified for the main draw with straight sets wins over Zhuoxuan Bai and Kamilla Rakhimova respectively.

The Briton is 38-18 across levels this season. She won her maiden WTA title in Nottingham and reached three ITF finals, winning two of them.

Can Boulter upset the top seed?
