Zapata Miralles in His Own Struggles
As mentioned earlier, Zapata Miralles prefers playing on clay and his overall record on the surface is next to none. Unfortunately for him, his recent form on red dirt has also taken a bit of a hit but more vitally he has almost won nothing outside of clay.
Over the last two and a half months, Zapata Miralles has recorded just one main draw win and that came at the US Open against the little-known Ethan Quinn.
Add the period since his fourth round appearance at the Madrid Masters and Zapata Miralles has a win-loss record of 4-11 at the highest level, putting a bit of a question-mark over his chances in this encounter.
It must be quickly said here that despite that, Zapata Miralles’ collapse from his career-best of 37th has only been to 72nd in the world. Can he now pull off a solid result against the favourite?
