Dan Evans v Mikhail Kukushkin Match Winning Odds*

Evans v Kukushkin Prediction and Tip

An out of form Evans might have his troubles here and could see him falter a little here. Expect the match to go into the third set.

Tips & Odds*:

Evans v Kukushkin Head to Head

Evans and Kukushkin have never faced off in a competitive match before this.

Evans Inconsistency a Cause for Concern

Evans was the title winner in Washington and made the semifinal of the Barcelona Open in what were two of his best performances for the season.

Unfortunately for him, in no other tournament this season has Evans win more than two matches in a row. And that has been the reason behind his inability to move up the rankings, having fallen from his career-best of 21st to his current 33rd in the world.

He’s also coming off three successive defeats at the highest level.

Evans lost in the third round of the US Open and has followed that up an opening loss at the Chengdu Open and another first round defeat in Beijing. While he did win a couple of Davis Cup matches amidst this carnage he will look to improve on his showing at the highest level.

Kukushkin Surprises Muller

Alexandre Muller was an 8/11 favourite going into his first round match against Kukushkin and while he scraped past his opponent in the opening tie-breaker it did look like he held the upper hand.

Kukshkin might be ranked outside the top 200 at the moment but he is an experienced pro though and he did well to come back from there to win the next two. In doing so, Kukushkin had won his first main draw match of the season.

He now faces a player who hasn’t been in the best of touches and while Kukushkin would know his own form has been anything but exemplary, this might not be a bridge too far for him. Can he go all the way and upset Evans though?
