More about the 2024 Australian Open

The 112th Australian Open will kick-start from Sunday, January 14 and go on till Sunday, January 28 with the first round matches played over three days instead of the customary two. The singles draw will begin from Sunday as opposed to Monday, which is usually the case.

The men’s and women’s singles matches will begin on January 14 while the doubles draw begins on Tuesday, January 16. These singles and doubles tournaments will go on till January 28.

On the other hand hand, the mixed doubles draw kick-starts from Thursday, January 18 with its final to be held on Friday, January 26. January 20 will mark the kick-off for the junior boys and girls singles while the boys and girls junior doubles will first be played on January 21.

The singles wheelchair draw begins on on Tuesday, January 23 while the draw kick-starts a day later on January 24. Same with the quad wheelchair singles and doubles action.

This year’s Australian Open will continue to be hosted at Melbourne Park, the same venue that has hosted the year’s first Grand Slam since 1988. The tournament will begin with three rounds of qualifiers in the week preceding the main draw of the competition with those matches to be held on January 8-10, 2024.
