Borna Coric v Aljaz Bedene Head to Head

The two men have played three times before, with Coric leading their head-to-head series by two matches to one. Bedene won their last encounter in Montpellier in 2017, but Coric won their first two encounters, including their only match on clay in Umag, Croatia in 2015.

Can Coric Improve His Roland Garros Record?

Coric has failed to add to his two senior ATP career titles in 2019, with a semi-final in Dubai, and a quarter-final in Miami his best performances of the year so far.

He does not have a great record in Majors either – Melbourne in January was the first time he as reached the fourth round of any Grand Slam event.

However, the 22-year-old Croatian has made the third round here three out of the four times he has contested the event, and will be looking to emulate that achievement at least this time round.

Bedene, Little Form on Clay

Bedene, after becoming a naturalised Briton, is back playing for his native Slovenia again. Now ranked 79 in the world, he does not have a good track record in this event either, with his best run coming in 2016 when he reached the third round.

However, he went out in the first round last year, and will do well to avoid a similar fate this time round.

Certainly there has been very little in his recent form to suggest he is capable of any sort of an upset. Whilst he reached the second round in Buenos Aires, he lost in the first round in Monte-Carlo and Casabalnce and did not even qualify for the Rome Masters.

Coric v Bedene Predictions & Tips

Coric is the overwhelming favourite to win at 4/1 on, whilst Bedene is priced at 39/11. The Croat does not have a  great record in Grand Slams but is likely to have far too much ammunition for Bedene to be able to handle on Tuesday.

Tip: Coric to win in three sets: 6/5 (888Sport)
