Stefanos Tsitsipas v Filip Krajinovic Head to Head

There is no history of any previous meetings between these two players on the ATP tour.

Tsitsipas, a Genuine Contender In Paris

Stefanos Tsitsipas has carried his brilliant form from the first quarter of the year to the European clay-court swing. The young Greek has surpassed expectations of many ardent fans with his explosive tennis.

Tsitsipas announced himself as the coming man in the tennis following his stunning fourth round victory over Roger Federer at the Australian Open in January. He has taken his game to the next level ever since; breaking inside the Top 10 and clinching a further two ATP titles (Marseille and Estoril).

The 20-year-old arrived in Paris as World No.6 and only Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal have beaten him since Barcelona. He has not shown any complacency on the Parisian dirt, overcoming Maximilian Marterer in straight sets and the odd blip of losing a set before seeing off Hugo Delien in the second round.

Tsitsipas in projected to meet Roger Federer in the last eight, and with the way he is playing he could do some real damage this fortnight.

Will Two Back-to-Back Five-Setters Haunt Krajinovic?

Filip Krajinovic is one of most talented tennis players in this world, but his body has failed to hold up for most of his career. Unfortunately, we have only been subjected to a few glimpses of the potential he has in the locker.

The 27-year-old has battled numerous injuries which have derailed what looked like a promising career as a youngster. His career highlight on tour was in reaching the final of Paris Bercy in 2017 and achieved a career-high ranking of No.33. However, Krajinovic would go on to win only 14 matches in 2018 to regress back in the rankings. It proved to be a disappointing stagnation as he lost in the first round at the Paris Masters on his return, and lost a huge chunk of points in the process.

Currently, he is ranked at No.60 and he seems like a rejuvenated man yet again. He reached the final in Budapest a month ago where he was denied a maiden ATP title by Matteo Berrettini. The Serb has achieved his best result at the French Open with his third round showing, but could it have come at a cost?

Krajinovic played two back-to-back five set matches where he was victorious in beating Tiafoe and Carballes Baena respectively.

Tsitsipas v Krajinovic Predictions & Tips

Tsitsipas played a tremendous match against Marterer and despite losing a set to Delien, he still looked razor sharp. You have to fancy the Greek to storm in this one once again. His weight of shots is fantastic and he has got depth in his ground-strokes. Krajinovic is not to be underestimated, but Tsitsipas should be a tad too good.

Tip: Tsitsipas to win in straight sets: 5/4 (888Sport)
