Borna Coric v Adrian Mannarino Head to Head

Coric and Mannarino have played each other two times previously. The Frenchman has a surprisingly 2-0 winning record over the Croat including a grass court win in Antalya. However, both those meetings happened two years ago.

Coric Needed Another Fightback To Beat Garin

Borna Coric came through a grueling three setter against the in-form Cristian Garin in the quarterfinal, where he needed to save one match-point to win 6-7 6-3 7-6 and reach the Libema Open semifinals in two and half hours of high octane tennis. What made the comeback even more impressive was the fact that the Croat trailed 2-5 by a double break in the third set and reeled off match-point with his 16th ace of the match which left him to live another day.

Coric will be on double duty as he is expected to defend his crown in Halle next week, the biggest title of his young career which he won in 2018 thanks to a terrific victory over Roger Federer. He will now attempt to reach his second grass court final of his career and his first final of the season.

His results this year may not be spectacular by any stretch of imagination, but it has been a season of steady accumulation. He has made the semis in Dubai, quarterfinals in Miami, Monte Carlo and Hungarian Open. Now he will attempt to reach the showpiece final tomorrow against a man he has never beaten.

Mannarino Sets Sights On Another Victory over Coric

Adrian Mannarino is into his first semifinal of the season thanks to a highly productive week of tennis which yielded victories over the likes of Thiemo De Bakker, Fernando Verdasco and David Goffin.

After an easy straight sets win in the opener, the Frenchman battled back from a set down in his next two matches where he beat two former top-10 players (Verdasco and Goffin).

His only other notable achievement in 2019 was in reaching the last eight in Delray. It was the only tournament where he won consecutive matches until the Libema Open. The 30-year-old is usually a dangerous grass court player due to his incredible angles that he can create with his forehand on the surface. He has made the finals in Antalya in the last two seasons and fourth round at Wimbledon on three occasions.

Coric v Mannarino Predictions & Tips

Mannarino has a 2-0 winning record over Coric, but as mentioned both those two meetings took place a couple of years ago when the Croat was still a work-in-progress. The Croat has redefined his game is now a very composed player on grass as evidence with a title win on the surface.

Tip: Coric to win: 11/21 (888Sport)
