Thiem Looking at Maiden Austrian Open Title
French Open finalist Dominic Thiem is back in Kitzbuhel again, in search of a maiden Austrian Open title.
After a disappointing Wimbledon, Thiem looked sharp upon his return to clay at Hamburg last week, before losing to Russian Andrey Rublev in two tiebreaks.
Thiem has had a strong clay court season, winning the Barcelona ATP 500 and was a finalist at the French Open, after an epic semifinal victory against world number one Novak Djokovic. He also won his first ATP Masters 1000 earlier this year, on the hard courts of Indian Wells.
The world number four comes back to the Austrian Open as a strong favorite. He begins his campaign against countryman Sebastian Ofner.

23-year-old Austrian Sebastian Ofner is currently ranked just outside the top 200 in the world.
He has been on the tour for about two years now and had a good debut in 2017. He made the third round at Wimbledon after being a qualifier, and was a semi-finalist here at Kitzbuhel the same year, which catapulted him to just outside the top 100 in the ATP rankings.
Offer has not done much of note on the tour since and gone without winning a match since February 2018, till the first round here earlier this week.
The Austrian defeated fellow countryman and qualifier Lucas Miedler in straight sets in two close tiebreaks in the first round encounter.
Dominic Thiem v Sebastian Ofner Predictions & Tips
Despite a premature exit at Hamburg, Thiem has been in excellent clay form all summer. The top seed starts as a strong favorite against his countryman who has been a semi-finalist here in the past however.
Expect some good moments of tennis between the two Austrians, but at the end,Thiem will be too strong for Ofner. The more experienced Austrian to win in two relatively straightforward sets.
