Felix Auger-Aliassme v Miomir Kecmanović Head to Head
The two 19-year-olds have already faced each other once at the Challenger level last year at Lyon and the Canadian, Auger-Aliassme came through in straight sets in that encounter.

This has been his first full season at the highest level and Auger-Aliassme has already shown his worth as a teenager. While the Canadian is yet to win an ATP title, he showed his talent is not just plain talk, with two ATP finals already under his belt this year to go with some other excellent results.
Wins over Fabio Fognini and Cristian Garin took him to the final at Rio de Janeiro early this year before he qualified for the Indian Wells Masters and beat Nikoloz Basilashvili and Borna Coric to make it to the semi-final at that Masters competition. He finally lost to John Isner in the last-four.
A string of poor results followed after that high of the Indian Wells Masters but he got his act together at Stuttgart on grass where he reached the final yet again. A semi-final presence at Queen’s was followed by his best ever Grand Slam showing till date when he made third round at Wimbledon.
What’s so likable about Auger-Aliassme is he’s performed on all three surfaces so far and looks like one for the future.
Ditto for Miomir Kecmanović…
…i.e. Kecmanović is also at his career-best ranking, having reached 58th in the world after having begun 2018 outside the top 200. A solid set of results at the Challenger helped him end the season on 131 on the ATP Rankings.
This allowed the Serb to compete at more of the ATP 250 competitions and qualifiers for the other tournaments like this Masters event. He made the main draw at the Australian Open, but then came his career-best result by some distance when Kecmanović was a shock quarter-finalist at the Indian Wells Masters.
He was aided by some luck there, entering the main draw as a lucky loser but went on to win three matches in a row before falling to Milos Raonic. At the French Open he went one better than the Australian, moving to round two, and repeated that feat at Wimbledon as well, sandwiching a finals appearance at Antalya.
As a result of all this, he is now 58th in the world and aiming to surprise a few of the best. Kecmanović made the main draw after wins in the qualifiers but can he deliver a shock result here in round one?
