Ashleigh Barty v Qiang Wang Head to Head

Barty leads Wang by 2-0 in the head to head tally, last defeating her in the WTA Zhuhai last season.

Barty on an Impeccable Run

For the second time in a row, Ash Barty has made it to the fourth round in the US Open, courtesy of her brilliant, spirited tennis. After surviving a minor scare against Zarina Diyas in the opener, she found her bearings and moved past Lauren Davis and Maria Sakkari with absolute ease.

She defeated the two players in straight sets without breaking a sweat in the Flushing Meadows, as Barty looks determined to repeat her French Open title run. It isn’t surprising to watch her play with this kind of vigour either, given that in the Cincinnati Open, she was a semifinalist.

Following these three wins here, her win-loss tally has now improved to 45-8 – one of the best on the tour at the moment. With a major title on each of the three surfaces: Miami Open, French Open, and the Birmingham Classic, she has truly been imposing and ruthless.

The cricketer-turned-tennis star has defeated a litany of top 10 players to make it where she is at the moment. By the looks of it, she shows no signs of slowing down.

Wang, with her Best Run in NY

The 27-year-old Qiang Wang has delivered her best performance in the US Open by reaching the fourth round. She achieved this feat after a fairly comfortable run against the likes of Caroline Dolehide, Alison Van Uytvanck, and most recently, Fiona Ferro. Impressively, Wang is yet to drop a set in the tournament.

The Hong Kong Open runner-up had a similar run in the Bronx Open as well, where she was a semifinalist. However, prior to these events, she struggled significantly with her form as she lost in the early rounds.

Barty v Wang Predictions & Tips

Expect Barty to wrap this one quite easily, similar to her previous matches. With the kind of form she is in right now, it will be hard for Wang to win, let alone draw a set. No surprises to be expected here.

Tip: Barty to win 2-0: 7/10 (888Sport)
