David Goffin v Richard Gasquet Head to Head
The pair have met three times before, with Goffin leading their head to head series by two matches to one. Goffin won their quarter final in Tokyo 2017, but Gasquet got his revenge in Montpellier a year later. However, Goffin won their semi-final encounter in Cincinnati earlier this year.
Goffin Enjoying Late Season Bounce
After several years of disappointing results and inconsistent form which has since the 28 year old Belgian gradually drift down the world rankings, Goffin has enjoyed something of a bounce back in form in the latter part of this season, starting in Halle where he got to the final, only to lose to Roger Federer.
He then got to the quarter-finals in Wimbledon, before he got to the final in Cincinnati, his best ever performance at a Masters Series event. He lost in the end to Daniil Medvedev, but followed up on that result last week in Tokyo, where, seeded three, he reached the semi-final, only to lose to Novak Djokovic, the same man who ended his challenge at Wimbledon.
The Belgian though can take satisfaction from having arrested the downward slide, and he is now climbing the rankings yet again.

33-year-old Gasquet has won 15 career titles, but it has been more than two years since the last of those successes, at s-Hertogenbosch.
This year injury prevented him from taking to the court in earnest until the Madrid Masters in May, since when he has appeared in two semi-finals – in s-Hertogenbosch again, and in Cincinnati, where he was beaten by his opponent on Monday.
He has not been in good form since Cincinnati though. He was beaten in the first round of the US Open by Matteo Berrettini of Italy, and then, in the second round in Metz, by compatriot Benoit Paire. Last week he was defeated at the first time of asking in Beijing by Dominic Thiem in straight sets.
Goffin v Gasquet Predictions & Tips
Goffin will start to win this match at 5/6, whilst Gasquet is priced at 8/5. Goffin has a superior head-to-head record between the two men, and is in good form recently, whilst Gasquet has been struggling. Provided that the Belgian shows no ill-effects from his exertions in Tokyo, he should win.
