Opelka Enjoying A Good Season
Opelka has enjoyed a very good season so far. He was ranked No. 102 in January, but he has propelled his ranking to his career-best world No. 40.
He won his first, and only title at the ATP 250 New York Open in February, beating the likes of Adrian Mannarino and john Isner over the week. He also made the semifinals of Atlanta Open and again last week at the Tokyo Open, where he lost to John Millman.
With those kind of results under his belt, he would be looking to keep improving his game and a contest against Bautista-Agut will give him some good experience.

Bautista-Agut is enjoying an even more solid season. He currently sits on the No. 10 spot in the ATP rankings, which is also his career-best ranking.
The Spaniard started the season off brilliantly with an ATP 250 title in his first tournament at the Doha Open. He beat the likes of Novak Djokovic and Stan Wawrinka on his way to the title.
He continued his good form into the Australian Open; managing to reach the quarterfinals. He defeated Andy Murray in the first round after a tight five-set match and also took out Marin Cilic in the round of 16. He beat Novak Djokovic again at the Miami Masters, but lost in the next round.
His form seemed to have dropped-off a bit until he cast away any doubts with a run to the semifinals of Wimbledon where he lost to Novak Djokovic. This was the first Grand Slam semifinal of his career. On the way to the US Open, Bautista-Agut made two consecutive quartefinals of Montreal Open and then Cincinnati Open, but lost in the first round of the US Open to Mikhail Kukushkin. Coming into the Shanghai Open, he retired in the first round of China Open against Sam Querrey.
