Reilly Opelka v Soon-Woo Kwon Head to Head

The pair have never met each other on the tour.

Big Hitting Opelka Finding His Range Again

The joint tallest player on the ATP tour has been struggling to find his serving rhythm since the start of the new season. But he showed in the second round match against Mackenzie McDonald that he was getting back to his best.

He dispatched the fellow American in straight sets and will now be hoping to achieve a personal best run at the event by reaching the semi-finals.

The 22-year-old won his maiden title at New York last year. He also reached the semi-finals at three other events. He also reached his career-best ranking of 31 late last season and achieved some notable achievements.

The American reached the main draw at all four Grand Slams for the first time in his career and won three matches against top 10 players. His first-round win over fellow big hitter John Isner at the Australian Open remained the highlight of his season.

Kwon Has Made it to Back to Back Quarter Finals

The 22-year-old has really been grinding out some tough victories in the last few weeks. Every single one of his last five matches has gone all the way to three sets and the South Korean has won in four of them. His most notable performance during this run has been the second-round win over Canada’s Milos Raonic in New York.

Currently ranked 82 in the world, the 22-year-old is just one spot short of the career-best ranking that he achieved last year.

Mostly playing in the challenger circuit, Kwon won two titles on that level and had an extremely impressive win-loss record of 58-25. It would be interesting to see what his energy levels are after going through such a exhausting few matches.

Reilly Opelka v Soon-Woo Kwon Predictions & Tips

If Opelka finds any sort of consistency in his serve this match is likely to be finished in no time. Opelka is six foot eleven, a whole foot taller than his opponent. The pace and power in the American’s groundstrokes are going to be too much for Kwon to handle. Barring Opelka having an off day, it is likely to be a one-sided contest.

Tip: Opelka to win in straight sets: 1/1 (Click here to get these odds with Unibet)
