Sock Looking To Reassert Himself on ATP Tour
Sock is looking to make a comeback on ATP tour and return to his best level. The American was ranked no 8 in the world in November 2017 after winning the Paris Masters and qualifying for the ATP Tour Finals in London, where he reached the semifinal. While Sock is trying to make a comeback, Nakashima is trying to make a name for himself. The talented 18-year-old has attracted a lot of attention due to his talents and has been tipped to become a superstar in the future. He was ranked no 942 last September but is now ranked at 290, a career high.
Nakashima has been in red hot form in this tournament causing upsets with victories over No. 7 seed Yuichi Sugita, No. 10 seed Salvatore Caruso and No. 14 seed Marcos Giron. The teenager will hope to continue his run of form and perhaps land his first ATP career title.
Former Aussie Grand Slam winner Pat Cash, who has been on Nakashima’s coaching staff has already remarked he has been impressed by his ward’s talents and this is another tournament in which Nakashima has shown what he’s capable of.
