Grigor Dimitrov has apologised for “any harm he might have caused” after testing positive for coronavirus following his twin-stints at the Adria Tour.
The Bulgarian announced he had contracted the illness and was recovering at home after featuring in Serbia for the first leg of the Adria Tour exhibition competition and then playing on Saturday in the second leg in Croatia.
In a post on Instagram, Dimitrov made the announcement, requesting those who had come in close contact with him to take the necessary precautions.

Dimitrov had played Borna Coric as recently as on Saturday, June 21 and lost in straight sets. At the end of the match, he had fist-bumped his opponent and the chair-umpire instead of shaking hands with them.

The Adria Tour is one of the very few sporting events around which is being played to capacity crowds in the stadium. It began last weekend at Belgrade where nearly 4000 fans crammed in the stadium, much to the surprise of fans around the world.
Dominic Thiem had won the first leg of the tournament last weekend, beating Filip Krajinovic in the final. Details about how the tournament would proceed from here on are still awaited.
