This is the first meeting between the players. Both were in good form in February before the season was suspended due to the Covid-19 virus, and look to have picked up from where they left off.

Tsitsipas Opponents Get Taller With Bigger Serves

Stefanos Tsitsipas ended 2019 as the the winner of the year-end ATP Tour Finals, which by far has been the biggest achievement of his career thus far.

Coming into 2020 with lofty expectations, the season did not get off to the best of starts for him. His performance at the ATP Cup was far from optimal and it was followed by the Australian Open, where he faced an early loss against Milos Raonic.

After another early loss at Rotterdam, Tsitsipas hit a good run, defending his title at Marseille without dropping a set and made the final in Dubai again before being runner-up, this time to Novak Djokovic.

Coming into the Western & Southern Open, the Greek has looked in good form and already been pitted against two mighty tall individuals with monstrous serves. Tsitsipas fended off former world number five Kevin Anderson with no trouble dropping only four games in the opener, and then won a tight tussle with bigger serving John Isner in two tiebreaks.

In the quarter-finals, Tsitsipas plays even taller and bigger serving 22-year-old American Reilly Opelka.

Fifty Aces For Opelka Already

It has been a promising 2019-2020 for young American Reilly Opelka, who is the tallest ever player on the ATP tour, making his serve one of his most powerful weapons.

He won his maiden ATP final last February in 2019 at the New York Open and had a consistent season thereafter. While 2020 did not get off to the best of starts for him, with early losses at Adelaide, Melbourne and at the New York Open, he did well to recover and win the ATP 250 title at Delray Beach, prior to the pandemic.

It has been a good week thus far for the American, serving 50 aces as he has defeated Cameron Norrie, Diego Schwartzman and Matteo Berrettini with fine serving. Opelka comes into the quarter-finals with good serving form and high on confidence and will be looking to extend his run further into the tournament.

Stefanos Tsitsipas v Reilly Opelka Prediction & Tip

After wins against Anderson and Isner, Tsitsipas will be ready for another big server. The Greek has been in good form and will start as a favorite here. However, similar to having Isner as an opponent, Opelka will not allow for any rest, especially if he continues his serving form.

The match will depend on how well Tsitsipas handles the Opelka serve and given the form he is in, it is expected he will prevail. Tsitsipas to win in three tight sets.

Expect Tsitsipas to win in three sets.

Tip: Tsitsipas to win in three sets: 3/1 (bet365)
