The latest performance in that dismal run came in the Paris Masters last week where he was drawn against the German world number 35 Jan-Lennard Struff.
It was not a high-quality match, littered with unforced errors and breaks of serve. It was actually Basilashvili who got his nose in front first with an early break, but then he dropped his serve twice in successive games to give the German the advantage.
The pair swapped breaks at the start of the second set, but then the Georgian dropped his serve twice more, allowing Struff to win with comparative ease.

Travaglia More at Home on a Clay Court
Travgalia is primarily a clay court player, and that is where he has had his most success recently. He reached the semi-final of the Challenger event in Prostejov, and then the third round of both the Rome Masters and the French Open.
He had to qualify for the Paris Masters, but, having successfully accomplished that, was drawn against the Australian Alex de Minaur, the world 25 in the first-round.
It was a match dominated by serve, with only two breaks in the entire match. Unfortunately for the Italian, they both went to the Australian, in the tenth game of each set. Travaglia had his chances – he had break points in both sets. However, he failed to take them and that ultimately proved costly.

Travaglia, although the lower ranked player, must start favourite for this match against an opponent who has not even won a set since the Dubai Masters back in February. It would be a major surprise if the Georgian found his form again this late in the season.
