Laura Siegemund v Anastasia Potapova Head to Head
This will be the first match between the 33-year-old German and Potapova, who is 14 years younger.

Siegemund was a surprise quarter-finalist at the French Open last October, but has struggled to match that level of performance since.
She went out in the first round in Abu Dhabi and, although she got to the third round of the Gippsland Trophy, she had the misfortune to meet Serena Williams in the first round of the Australian Open, and was well beaten in straight sets.
The German then lost in the first round in Adelaide as well.
She was forced to qualify for Doha, winning all three of her matches without dropping a set.
In the first round she had a morale boosting win over Elena Rybakina, but then met Victoria Azarenka, who defeated her with ease, dominating on serve.

Potapova, A Teenager Making Up for Lost Time
Teenager Potapova did not play in 2020 after lockdown, and now she is trying to make up for lost time.
Like Siegemund, she lost in the first round in Abu Dhabi and, like the German, was knocked out of the Australian Open by Serena Williams.
The difference in her case though was that her loss came at the third round stage, having already enjoyed straight set wins over Alison Riske of the USA and the Hungarian Timea Babos. She also pushed Williams a lot harder that Siegemund had done.
However, she subsequently was beaten in the first round of the Philip Island Trophy by the Swede Rebecca Peterson, and failed to qualify for Doha last week.
Siegemund v Potapova Prediction and Tip
There is a difference in age and experience between these two women, and, although Potapova has youth on her side, Siegemund should have too much know-how around the court for her.
