Anastasija Sevastova v Olga Danilovic Head to Head

Their only previous meeting came in the 2018 Fed Cup where Danilovic won in straight sets, defeating Sevastova 6-2, 6-4.

Sevastova Turning Things Around Recently

It wasn’t the kind of start that the Latvian Sevastova must have been wanting, but over the last two tournaments things look to be improving slightly for the former world number 11.

Sevastova kicked things off for the season with a four defeats from five matches, with her only victory coming at the Yarra Valley Classic against Madison Brengle. Losses to Paula Badosa, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Kaia Kanepi and Ana Bogdan indicated a poor run of form given none of them even close to being top 20 players.

Which is also why a quarterfinal appearance at the Adelaide International where she got the better of Caroline Garcia and Christina McHale in the first two rounds would have given her some confidence. As would have the 6-0, 6-3 drubbing of Bernarda Pera in the opening round of the WTA Dubai, and even in the defeat to Karolina Pliskova, Sevastova looked to have done well to push the top-10 player into the third set.

Question is if she can maintain that kind of a consistency or would the slump be back?

Danilovic Hoping for Second Main Draw Win

Once ranked 96th in the world, Danilovic has fallen more than 60 places in more recent times. The start to the season, however, has been a decent one, and one that should fill Danilovic with the hope she can push on and back to the top 100 at some point this season.

It started with three wins at the Australian Open qualifiers, before she registered one of the best victories of her career when she shocked Petra Martic in the first round there. While she fell in the second round to Shelby Rogers, it was that victory that would have bolstered her confidence enough to give her a shot for the rest of the year.

A couple of opening round defeats followed soon after, but Danilovic has now managed to overcome Jasmine Paolini and Kristie Ahn in the qualifiers here to make the main draw.

While Sevastova is a solid opponent, she can also get a wee bit erratic and if Danilovic can get off to a quick start, we could be in for a thriller.

Sevastova v Danilovic Prediction and Tip

Sevastova is a 4/7 favourite to win this but we will have to give Danilovic some chance here and the games handicap market (Danilovic +3.5) looks to be a good market to consider. Or the games one.

Tip: Over 20.5 games in the market: 5/6 (bet365)
