Fiona Ferro v Vera Zvonareva Head to Head
The pair have met once before, and that was just last month in St. Petersburg, Zvonareva winning their first round match in a third-set tie-break.

Ferro began 2021 reasonably well, reaching the third round of the Australian Open before losing to Iga Swiatek, and then, In Lyon, where she was the number two seed, getting to the semi-final stage.
She has not played a lot of tennis since, but was beaten by her opponent on Thursday in the first round of St. Petersburg, and went out at the same stage in Miami, losing in three sets to the Chinese player Saisai Zheng.
However, she returned to winning ways with a good win over the number two seed and world 21, Petra Martic of Croatia, on Tuesday.
The first set was tight, and after the pair had swapped service breaks, Martic saved a set point, before Ferro forced another in her next service game and this time converted it
The Frenchwoman then took control of the second set with two early breaks. Martic grabbed one of them back, but serving to stay in the match, Martic then surrendered her serve to love.

Zvonareva, A Semi-Finalist in St. Petersburg
Zvonareva is playing in her first tournament since St. Petersburg, where she got to the semi-finals.
She continued that form in the first round with a solid win over Palona Hercog of Slovenia, the world number 73.
Zvonareva was the first to drop her serve, but she broke back immediately, and then broke the Slovenian to take the first set.
The second set saw the play become more erratic from both players, and there was a sequence of four games when neither player could hold their serve.
Zvonareva then had to save two break points but, having done that successfully, broke Hercog once more to wrap-up the win.

Despite that recent loss to Zvonareva, Ferro is back on clay where she feels more comfortable and she is tipped to overcome the Russian on this occasion.
