Ilya Ivashka v Mackenzie McDonald Head to Head
The pair have never met before. This will be the first match between the 27 year old from Belarus, and the American, who is one year younger.

Having begun his season in disappointing fashion with first round defeats in the Australian Open and a Challenger event in Biela, Italy, and an early exit from the Miami Open, Ivashka has enjoyed better success since switching to clay.
He reached the third round in Andalucía, and then, after going through two rounds of qualifying, reached the second round in Barcelona last week, before losing to the eventual winner Rafael Nadal.
Again, he had to come through two qualifying rounds in Munich, navigating them successfully to earn a first-round match with the Finn Emile Ruusuvouri. And he cruised pat a man ranked 32 places higher than him in the world, taking the first set after breaking the Finn twice, without once being threatened on his own serve.
He then raced into a four game leave at the start of the second set and, although Ivashka gave one of his breaks of service back, he then broke Russuvouri again, and served pit for the match.

McDonald, First Clay Court Event Since French Open
McDonald is playing in his first clay court event since the French Open last year, where he too lost to Nadal in the second round. He enjoyed a strong start to 2021, reaching the fourth round of the Australian Open and then winning a Challenger event in Nur-Sultan.
Wins have been harder to come by since then, although he did reach the second round of the Miami Masters after coming through qualifying.
He was obliged to qualify again here in Munich, but then produced a big surprise by knocking out the number six seed and world 37 Dasun Lajovic on Tuesday.
McDonald forced two break points in the first set, converted the second and then saved against his own serve, and that was enough to earn him the first set.
Lajovic them saved two break points in the second set, but, when the American got another chance he took it, and from there went on to close out the match.
Ivashka v McDonald Prediction and Tip
Ivashka will start the favourite because of his greater familiarity with clay, but he should not take the American for granted.
