Maria Sakkari v Karolina Muchova Head to Head
No previous matches have been played between Sakkari and Muchova before this at the highest level. They have, however, played on the ITF circuit, and Sakkari had won that match in straight sets way back in 2016.

All it took was an hour and a minute for Sakkari to send Anett Kontaveit packing from the tournament, winning their second round match in straight sets. Sakkari completed a 6-3, 6-1 rout to make it to the third round of a competition she has never won a match before this.
The Greek, who had earlier needed three sets against Amanda Anisimova, did not have a lot of trouble against her Estonian opponent, avoiding any breaks of serves in the entire match. In turn, Sakkari broke Kontaveit four times, twice in both.
It didn’t look like that to begin with though. The two were tied at three games apiece in the opening set, with Kontaveit needing to prevent just one break-point in that time.
That was, however, about the kind of fight Kontaveit put up. From there on, Sakkari won nine of the next 10 games, losing just one game at 3-0 in the second, to complete the victory.
She now takes on an in-form Muchova who has already stunned the world number two.

Muchova Grills Away at Osaka
Australian Open semifinalist and Ash Barty conqueror from that competition, Muchova will want this season to repeat over and over. Because having beaten the top-ranked ranked player, the Czech then shocked the world number two here in Madrid to proceed to the third round.
Despite going into the match as a second-favourite, there was always that sense Muchova could test the four-time Grand Slam winner. And she did more than that.
In a match lasting an hour and 52 minutes, Muchova completed 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 to set up this meeting with Sakkari.
The first set had just one break of serve, which came in the third game and saw Muchova save one break-point otherwise to complete the first set. In the second, Muchova went a break up again but Osaka showed why she is the second-ranked player by retaliating with back to back breaks to level things away.
Muchova went 3-0 up, faced no break-points after that and then made it a second break to complete the set rout.
Sakkari v Muchova Prediction and Tip
Sakkari is 4/6 to win this but we cannot discount Muchova here by any count. A three-setter looks likely and to be on the safer side, the games market would be a good bet too.
