Sebastian Korda v Lorenzo Musetti Head to Head
This will be the first ever meeting between Korda and Musetti at any level of tennis.

Korda’s run to the quarterfinal at this year’s Miami Masters was one of his career-best performances in any tournament but that was followed by a sudden fall in form.
The American followed that quarterfinal defeat to Andrey Rublev with opening round losses at both, the Belgrade Open and Munich Open. And it became worse in the Madrid Masters qualifiers where Korda lost to the Arthur Cazaux, a player ranked outside the top 500.
Which is why Korda’s first round win here against Pierre-Hugues Herbert would be such a relief for the American.
Needing an hour and 53 minutes, Korda carved out a 7-6 (5), 6-4 win with very little to choose between the two throughout the match. This can be seen from the fact, Korda won 38 points in the match, to Herbert’s 39.
And yet, it was Korda’s scrappiness that shone through and helped him come through in his opener. Can he now make it two in two?

Musetti Shades Auger-Aliassime in Opener
Musetti gained fame with a solid showing at the Acapulco Open earlier this season where, as a qualifier he stormed into the semifinal with wins over Diego Schwartzman, Frances Tiafoe and Grigor Dimitrov in a week filled with upsets.
And now he has added Felix Auger-Aliassime to that list too, as he came through against the world number 19 in three, gruelling but ultimately satisfying sets.
On a day when the talk of the town would have been Pablo Andujar’s upset win over Roger Federer, Musetti registered his fifth over a top-20 player to make it to the second round.
In a battle described as ‘intense’ by Musetti, the Italian player came through 7-6(3), 3-6, 7-5 with the match lasting a shade less than three hours.
And Musetti admitted while he had never played Korda before this, he had known the American from his juniors days, calling him one of the best Next-Gen players in the world today. Interestingly, it’s Musetti who starts off a favourite against this another talented youngster.
Korda v Musetti Prediction and Tip
Korda is coming off having had a poor few weeks of results and while he did win his previous round encounter in straight sets, he would find it difficult to get past a player who loves his clay and is coming off another top-20 scalp. Musetti gets our vote too.
