Krajinovic on a Four-Match Losing Streak

His last win on the ATP tour came in Belgrade itself when Krajinovic marched into the quarterfinals at the first ever edition of the Belgrade Open. In less than a month the Serb will now hope he can turn around a poor string of form which has already seen him four matches in a row.

This includes that quarterfinal defeat at the hands of Matteo Berrettini, which was followed by losses to Jan-Lennard Struff, Yoshihito Nishioka and Felix Auger-Aliassime in the following matches.

Judging by the manner in which Krajinovic played in those matches, it does look like it would be a matter of time before he regains some of his past form back. Two of those four losses, for instance, were to top-25 players and saw the Serb put up a sterling fight before getting edged out.

And with a nearly 700th-ranked played up against him, this could be the beginning of bit of a resurrection for Krajinovic.

Medjedovic in Just His Third Season

Having first played a Futures tournament in 2019, Medjedovic followed it up with a few more of those tournaments early last season.

With the pandemic forcing many of the competitions to shut shop, Medjedovic’s only tennis time included a two and a half month long appearance at the Eastern European Championship between June and September.

In that competition, Medjedovic won just four of the 13 matches he played in before ending the season.

Earlier this season, a semifinal appearance at a Futures event and followed it up with his maiden match victory at a Challenger event – which also came in Belgrade. Another first round win in Biella followed soon after before he reached the semifinal of another Future event.

Can he put up a brave front here?
