Jordan Thompson v Lukas Klein Head to Head
This will be the 27-year-old Australian’s first meeting with the 23-year-old Slovakian, ranked 256th in the world.

Australia’s Jordan Thompson fought back from a set down to beat Spain’s Pablo Andujar in the first round of the Mallorca Open on Sunday.
The 27-year-old Aussie served 14 aces, saved five of eight break points and converted three of six to defeat the World No. 70, 2-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 in two hours and 26 minutes.
The win improved Thompson to 9-11 in 2021 and 3-2 on grass. The World No. 76 also featured in Stuttgart and Halle this year, winning his first-round matches and falling in the second in both the tournaments.
Thompson, who has lost all four of his first-round matches at Wimbledon so far, has a career record of 11-15 on grass. However, he reached his only ATP final on the grass courts of ‘sHertogenbosch in 2019, but remained title-less after going down to Adrian Mannarino in the final.
This season has largely been a struggle for the Aussie, who reached the quarterfinal at Melbourne-1, but made five first-round and five second-round exits in the next 10 tournaments.

Klein Takes Out Eighth Seed Lajovic
Slovakia’s Lukas Klein got his third win in three days as he stunned eighth seed Dusan Lajovic in the first round on Monday.
The 256th-ranked Klein broke the World No. 41 twice in the match and saved three of four break points to win 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) in an hour and 37 minutes.
The 23-year-old Slovak had made it to the main draw by upsetting Pablo Cuevas 6-3, 6-4 in the first qualifying round on Saturday and then defeated Uzbekistan’s Denis Istomin in the second qualifying round on Sunday.
Klein, who made his ATP main draw debut at the Argentina Open earlier this year, has won six ITF titles from 10 finals.

Klein has got into a good rhythm, beating much higher-ranked players in the past three days. He will ask a few tough questions of Thompson, but the Aussie should be up to the challenge. Expect Thompson to win in three.
