Samantha Stosur v Grace Min Head to Head
This will be the first time that the 37-year-old Aussie will meet the 27-year-old American.

2011 U.S. Open champion Samantha Stosur has won just one singles match this year. The 37-year-old Australian, who was a runner-up at the French Open in 2010, is on a five-match losing streak and will begin her Prague campaign on Monday with hopes of ending the streak.
A former No. 1 doubles player, Stosur won her third Grand Slam doubles title in 2019, when she paired with Zhang Shuai to win the Australian Open crown. That year, the nine-time WTA singles champion also reached her 25th career final in Guangzhou but finished runner-up.
Since then, the former World No. 4 singles player has seen a downward slide. She was 1-4 in 2020 and comes to Prague with a 1-6 record this year, having lost her last five matches.
The World No. 166 Stosur’s only win this year came against Australian wildcard Destanee Aiava in the first round of the Australian Open. She was however beaten in the next round by America’s Jessica Pegula.
Among her first-round exits this year, she was beaten by Marie Bouzkova at the Yarra Valley Classic, Maddison Inglis in Adelaide, Tereza Martincova in Birmingham, Viktorija Golubic at Eastbourne and Shelby Rogers at Wimbledon.
Stosur’s doubles form has been poor as well, however, she tasted some success in mixed doubles event, reaching her fourth Grand Slam final at the Australian Open with Matthew Ebden but finishing runner-up for the first time after falling to the pairing of Barbora Krejcikova and Rajeev Ram.

Min Has Lost Her Last Four Matches
Facing Stosur in the first round will be World No. 179 Grace Min of the United States.
The 27-year-old right-hander who has mostly featured in lower level tournaments this year has lost all four of her previous matches.
Her last win came in the first qualifying round of the French Open, since then she lost to Stefanie Voegele in the second qualifying round at Roland Garros, to Priscilla Hon in the first qualifying round at Wimbledon, Qinwen Zgheng at an ITF event and Rebecca Peterson at the Swedish Open.
A winner of 12 ITF events, Min, who has a career-high ranking of 97, is 13-10 from all matches across levels this year.
She has, however, played in just two tour-level main draw matches this year, having qualified for both the Charleston events, but she made a first-round exit in both of those events falling to Magdalena Frech at the Charleston Open and to Alycia Parks at the WTA 250.
Stosur v Min Prediction and Tip
It’s a contest between two struggling players. Stosur’s experience, however, gives her the edge. She looked good against Rogers in her first round match at Wimbledon, going down in three. Expect her to end the losing streak and advance.
