Tereza Martincova v Asia Muhammad Head to Head

World No. 78 Tereza Martincova had an easy opening match here in Prague, beating the Brit Samantha Murray Sharan 6-1, 6-4.
In light of her recent form, the Czech looks primed for a great run in the competition. Most recently, she reached the third round in Wimbledon and prior to that, she was a quarterfinalist in the Nottingham Open and Birmingham Classic.
Martincova also had similar spells earlier in the year. Earlier in the year, when she was ranking in the late 120s, the 26-year-old reached the second round in Lyon Open and Miami Open, and the third round in the WTA Dubai.
She achieved these feats as a qualifier and despite not making it deep into the tournament, it helped her crack the top 100 and reach her best singles ranking yet.
Now she finds herself on the same surface on the back of a run that has got her sailing high on confidence and momentum.

Muhammad Battles Past Cabrera
30-year-old Asia Muhammad had to fight Lizette Cabrera in her opening match of the Prague Open. The game went on for a little under two hours and saw the American ultimately win with 3-6, 6-2, 6-2.
With that win, Muhammad has made it to the second round of a WTA tournament for the first time since the Oracle Challenger 2020. This goes on to say about her performance in 2021, which consists mainly of qualifying round defeats. Hence, it also comes as no surprise to see that she is currently ranking some 90 places below Martincova on the singles tour.
On the doubles circuit, however, she has some pedigree. Ranking at the 35th spot there, she won the Monterrey Open doubles earlier in the season with Caroline Dolehide. Muhammad has spent the better part of last few seasons competing on the ITF circuit.
Martincova v Muhammad Prediction and Tip
Muhammad may be a better doubles player than Martincova but one on one, it is quite hard to imagine her overcome the Czech, especially when we consider the stark differences in the form of the two players.
