Humbert Hoping For Tokyo Repeat

It has been a good season for Frenchman Ugo Humbert with the title at the ATP 500 in Halle being his best result. The  young man from France has had an up and down year but ensured a third career final (at Halle) resulted in another title, similar to Auckland and Antwerp in 2020.

Humbert also had a fair run at the Tokyo Olympics late last month falling one short of the medal round, but recording a noteworthy win against Stefanos Tsitsipas coming back from a set down.

The Frenchman is yet to meet with plenty of success on the North American hard courts but it was an impressive straight sets opening win against the rising Italian Lorenzo Sonego in the opener here in Toronto.

Tsitsipas v Humbert  Prediction and Tip

This is a clash between two very promising young players. While Humbert has won both their meetings, it will be down to who is better on the given day. Expect the Tsitsipas experience to prevail here in a close three-setter, as Humbert will feel the physicality of back-to-back matches.
