Jennifer Brady v Jelena Ostapenko Head to Head
Brady and Ostapenko have been involved in three career, head-to-head meetings till date, with the American holding a 2-1 lead. They last met in the third round of the Madrid Masters this year where Brady prevailed in straight sets.

Returning to Tour action since her third-round finish at this year’s French Open, Brady opened her Cincinnati campaign against Ekaterina Alexandrova of Russia.
The American got off the blocks faster than the Russian, bossing the run of play in the initial games and profiting from a service break to take the opening set at a canter.
However, licking the wounds from her defeat in the opening set, the Russian came out determined to make a match of it in the second set. She did well to stay in the hunt, taking the second to a tiebreak.
But Brady pipped her in the tiebreak to close out a 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) win.
In the 32nd-ranked Ostapenko, the American faces a feisty opponent she has got more victories over in head-to-head meetings but still can’t afford to relax.

Ostapenko Overcomes Zidansek in Opener
Seeking to recover from her opening-round defeat Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic in Montreal, Ostapenko drew Slovenian Tamara Zidansek in the opening round at the Cincinnati Masters.
Ranked 32nd in singles currently, Ostapenko rose from her disappointment at the Canadian Open to cruise past Zidansek in straight sets.
The Slovenian did put up a dogged fight in the opening set before the Latvian got herself a break of serve and held on to her lead to win it 7-5.
In the second set, however, it was Ostapenko all the way as she rode roughshod over the Slovenian to close out a facile 7-5, 6-1 win.
However, between the Latvian and a place in the last 16 at the Masters stands this year’s Australian Open runner-up Jennifer Brady.
Though a tough outing, Ostapenko will take the confidence from her only solitary career win over the American into this opening-round fixture.
Brady v Ostapenko Prediction and Tip
From the evidence of their recent run of results, there isn’t much to separate Brady and Ostapenko at the minute. However, the American will feed off the home support as she bids 3-1 up on head-to-head count against the Latvian.
