Ash Barty v Victoria Azarenka Head to Head
There have been three previous matches between these two players including one at Fed Cup. Barty leads 2-1 having won at the 2019 Fed Cup and Miami Open earlier this year. Azarenka’s only win came in Tokyo in 2018.

A title winner at Wimbledon, Barty would be mighty disappointed with her opening round exit at the Tokyo Olympics where she went down to Sara Sorribes Tormo. The good news for her, however, is her form otherwise.
The world number one is 15-2 in hard court tournaments this season, having only lost to Karolina Muchova and Danielle Collins all season.
Barty has already won four titles, including two on hard courts, which had her go the distance at Miami Open earlier this season.
In the first round here, Barty defeated Heather Watson in straight sets but one that lasted an hour and 48 minutes as her Brit opponent fought hard to remain in the contest. The Aussie broke twice early in the match to take a 3-0 lead only to drop her serve two times before carving out a decisive break in the seventh game.
The second set went to serve before Barty scooped up the tie-breaker, winning the encounter off her third match-point.

Azarenka Eases to Another Straight-Set Win
That Azarenka has done well without winning a title this year would probably rankle but her performances in these first two rounds here should instill that confidence and self-belief it’s just a matter of time.
Because in both her first two rounds, Azarenka played like the favourite she was.
In the first, the world number 15 defeated Ludmilla Samsonova 6-2, 6-3 before cruising past Alison Riske 6-2, 7-5 in the second.
The match against Riske lasted an hour and 37 minutes, with Azarenka breaking her opponent five times to having to endure her own two breaks of serves.
The question now is whether Azarenka can challenge the might of the world number one player, who is a different kettle of fish to the kind of opposition the Belarusian player has endured so far.
Barty v Azarenka Prediction and Tip
This could get close for the simple reason Barty is only just returning to hard court surfaces and showed some amount of rustiness even in her opener. Might see a third set.
