Grigor Dimitrov v Alexei Popyrin Head to Head

The Bulgarian eventually succumbed to Karatsev in the quarters 2-6 6-4 6-1 6-2.
The former top 3 player will look to replicate his win over Popyrin earlier in the year, this previous encounter will give him much needed mental confidence as he looks to reach the 3rd round.

Popyrin Looking to Avenge Melbourne Loss
Popyrin successfully fought of Albot in the opening round 6-3 6-7(3) 6-2 6-3 to book a rematch against Dimitrov. The Australian hit an impressive 13 aces during the tie and did not lose his serve once, making it incredibly difficult for Albot.
The Australian also powered down 51 winners and won 20/28 net points, a dominant performance and worthy of reaching the second round.
Popyrin has been a winner on the ATP circuit this year, lifting the trophy at an ATP 250 event in Singapore. Along the way defeating Eubanks, Andreev, Ebden, Cilic before beating Bublik in the final 4-6 6-0 6-2 to claim the title.
The 22-year-old will look to avenge the loss he suffered to Dimitrov earlier this year and level the H2H. The previous encounter was very close, so it is definitely on the cards. A third round birth would secure a tie with either Giron or Evans.
