When Does US Open 2021 Quarterfinal Action Begin?
The remaining four US Open quarterfinal matches will be played on Wednesday, September 8 with action kick-starting at 12 noon local time at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
First up on court will be the Tokyo Olympics gold medallist, Belinda Bencic who will look to continue her form as she takes on Emma Raducanu. Raducanu has been tipped to be the next Brit great and while she has had a favourable draw so far, it will be interesting to see how well can she translate her confidence into a result.
Alexander Zverev, seeded fourth, previous year’s runner-up and one of the contenders for the title, will be on court next as he takes on surprise quarterfinalist Lloyd Harris of South Africa at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.
The evening session will begin at 7 pm local time with Maria Sakkari, seeded 17th, facing the might of the Wimbledon finalist and in-form Karolina Pliskova. Pliskova who is the fourth seed, looks to have turned things around in her career and will be gunning for another Grand Slam semifinal this season.
Top seed Novak Djokovic, who is looking for a calendar Slam will kick-start proceedings as a part of the final match of the day as he takes on the sixth seeded Matteo Berrettini. Can he ease through to another top-notch win and continue his golden run for the year?
