Alison Riske v Fiona Ferro Head to Head
Riske and Ferro have never played each other before. However, with the American a seasoned hand in the women’s game and the Frenchwoman an emerging talent, their first-ever head-to-head outing has the makings of an absorbing contest.

Coming into the Slovenia Open after suffering a disappointing first-round loss to Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova at her home Grand Slam, the US Open, Riske drew Pia Lovric of Slovenia in her tournament opener.
After pummeling the Slovenian in straight sets, the American followed up with two more wins over Viktoria Kuzmova of Slovakia and Kristina Mladenovic of France to set up a semifinal meeting with another Slovenian Kaja Juvan.
Producing near-flawless tennis, Riske powered past the Slovenian to set up a championship clash with rising Italian Jasmine Paolini.
Though she gave the Italian a good fight, Paolini prevailed in straight sets to lift the title.
While the tournament ended in defeat for her, the seasoned American took away plenty of positives from her phenomenal run that will now stand her good stead as she opens her Ostrava campaign against emerging Frenchwoman Fiona Ferro.

Ferro Overcomes Blinkova to Enter Ostrava Main Draw
After going down to Bernarda Pera of the US in the opening round at the Slovenian Open, Ferro came into the Ostrava Open in the hope of a better harvest.
Currently ranked 85th in singles, the Frenchwoman registered two straight wins over Oksana Kalashnikova of Georgia and Anna Blinkova of Russia to seal passage to the main tournament draw.
The 24-year-old will open her campaign against seasoned American Alison Riske. Though they have not played each other before, Riske, being a vastly experienced campaigner, will be a daunting opponent for the Frenchwoman.
