Danka Kovinic v Mayar Sherif Head to Head

Sherif Hoping to Repeat US Open Qualifying Showing
Taking the confidence from a successful qualifying campaign at the US Open, despite losing her third to young Englishwoman and eventual champion Emma Raducanu, Sherif went on to lift the title at her next tournament, the WTA 125K Karlsruhe in Germany.
Though her US Open campaign ended in the first round itself, the self-belief that she garnered from her wins in the qualifiers helped her string in a sequence of wins to come within a match of holding aloft the championship title.
Setting up a championship showdown with Martina Trevisan of Italy, the 72nd-ranked Egyptian coasted as she would on the Red Sea to a straight-set win to lift the title.
With a trophy already under her belt, she would have her sights on another as she opens her Indian Wells campaign against little-known Danka Kovinic of Montenegro.

Ranked slightly higher in singles currently, Sherif, on current form, will be the favorite going into this opening-round clash against Kovinic. However, Montenegrin would be itching to put all doubts around her form at rest after a string of poor results.
