Filip Krajinovic v Denis Istomin Head to Head

Krajinovic has been woefully off his pace in top-level tennis in the recent past, racking up a series of unflattering results from the Tour.Currentoly ranked 42nd in singles, the Serbian was sent packing in the first round of US Open by Argentine Guido Pella.
The Serb hurtled down a slippery slope from there on in as he struggle to impose himself on his opponents across events. Though he redeemed himself somewhat by reaching the semifinals of the Sofia Open after crashing out in the opening round at Astana, inconsistency proved his bugbear again at the Indian Wells Masers where his campaign ended in the second round.
Coming into the Paris Masters after suffering two more, back-to-back first-round defeats on the road in Moscow and Vienna, Krajinovic bowed out in the opening round again after losing to big-serving American Reilly Opelka.
The Serb would fervently hope to close this chapter of inconsistency as he opens his campaign at the Stockholm Open on Sunday against Roberto Carballes Baena of Spain.
While he will take the sweet memories of his win over the 75th-ranked Spaniard in their only previous head-to-head outing at the 2019 French Open, it should, by no means, let complacency creep into his being as the Serb would dearly love to snap out of his series of first-round exits and build from there.

Istomin Awaits First Win of 2021
It’s been a year to forget for the 35-year-old Uzbek, having won no main draw matches on the ATP tour this season.
Once ranked 33rd in the world, Istomin is currently 249th and that he made it through to the first round here from the qualifiers is a mini-achievement by itself.
Because the last time he played in the main draw at the highest level was in May, where he made it through to the French Open first round, losing easily to Roger Federer after that.
That was also his only such appearance. Expecting him to overcome Krajinovic given his form issues despite his opponent’s inconsistencies would be expecting a tad much.
