Before the start of this tournament, Parrizas Diaz had never won a main draw match in a Grand Slam. In fact she had entered the main draw of a major just once and that had come at the 2021 US Open where she crashed out in the first round.
Here, at the Australian Open, Parrizas Diaz has already gotten past the first hurdle against Irina Bara, recording her first ever win in a Grand Slam tournament. And this was followed by a second round walkover after Maryna Zanevska withdrew from their encounter.
