Lloyd Harris v Marton Fucsovics Head to Head

Harris leads 2-1 head to head. His only defeat against the Hungarian came in Qatar last year.

Harris Looking for First Win in 2022

World No. 35 Lloyd Harris is yet to win a match in 2022.

A two-time ATP finalist, the 24-year-old lost to Kwon Soon-woo in the opening round of his season opener in Adelaide-2. He was seeded No. 30 at the Australian Open, but suffered a shock first round defeat to Australia’s Aleksandar Vukic. In both the matches, Harris took the first set but couldn’t capitalise on the advantage.

In his third tournament in Rotterdam this week, Harris was outplayed by Belarus’ Ilya Ivashka in straight sets.

The South African, who was a finalist in Adelaide in 2020 and in Dubai last year, had a 30-22 season in 2021. Yet to register a first win this year, Harris is on a five-match losing streak, which began with a semifinal defeat to Jannik Sinner in Antwerp. The last man he defeated was Marton Fucsocivics in the quarterfinals in Antwerp.

Can he end the losing streak in Doha by beating Fucsovics again?

Fucsovics is a Two-Time Quarterfinalist in Qatar

Like Harris, World No. 38 Marton Fucsovics too didn’t have a great start to the year, going 1-3 in his three tournaments down under. But a run to the quarterfinals in Rotterdam this week would have given him a lot of confidence.

The Hungarian rallied to defeat Serbia’s Filip Krajinović in the first round and then carved out a solid win against Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor to reach the last eight, but couldn’t progress further after being eliminated by Andrey Rublev.

The 29-year-old Fucsovics has won an ATP title in Geneva in 2018. He is also a two-time runner-up on the tour.

In Doha, the Hungarian will be making a fourth main draw appearance this year. He is 5-2 in the tournament and was a quarterfinalist the last two years. While he lost to Miomir Kecmanovic in the last eight stage in 2020, he couldn’t take the court and withdrew from the quarterfinal against Rublev last year.

Harris v Fucsovics Prediction and Tip

Harris has been off colour and short on confidence, while Fucsovics has got a few wins under his belt. So it will be the Hungarian who will be a slight favourite to win this contest.
